Abstract:
OpenAI said it is deepening its cooperation with Samsung Electronics and expanding its ties with the South Korean technology giant in areas such as semiconductors and enterprise-level AI services. Harrison Kim, general manager of OpenAI Korea, said at a press conference in Seoul on Wednesday: "In our cooperation with Samsung Electronics, one of the areas where we have made the most significant progress and received the most recognition is the joint production and research of the next-generation chips we are developing." But he did not disclose further details.
Kim also said that Samsung Electronics is "one of the largest companies using ChatGPT globally" and pointed out that the company's employees in South Korea and overseas use ChatGPT in research and development, marketing and sales.
Kim said demand for memory chips will continue to grow as chip technology required to enable faster and more complex calculations continues to grow, making cooperation with Korean semiconductor suppliers a priority for OpenAI's local office.
