Report: Samsung expands its lead in global DRAM market with share reaching 39%

Abstract:

An industry report released by market research firm TrendForce on Monday showed that in the second quarter of 2026, Samsung Electronics occupied 39.4% of the global dynamic random access memory (DRAM) market in terms of revenue, further expanding its lead amid the global artificial intelligence boom.

This report shows that the DRAM revenue of this leading Korean memory chip manufacturer increased by 63.4% month-on-month in April and June, reaching US$60.98 billion; its market share increased from 38.5% in the first quarter.

South Korea's SK Hynix ranked second, with a market share of 24.9%, lower than 28.8% in the first quarter, but its revenue increased by 37.9% quarter-on-quarter to US$38.59 billion.

The report shows that US Micron Technology’s global DRAM market share in the second quarter was 23.3%, higher than the 22.4% in the previous quarter; revenue in the quarter increased by 65.5% from the previous quarter, reaching US$36 billion.

TrendForce stated that driven by the growth in shipments of various storage products, the global DRAM market’s total revenue in the second quarter reached US$154.73 billion, an increase of 59.5% from the previous quarter.
