According to the official official account of Beijing Transportation,Starting today, Beijing will launch the trial operation of urban rail transit express transportation. This is the first pilot project in the country to use the excess capacity of urban rail transit during off-peak hours to transport express delivery.According to reports, since this year, the Municipal Transportation Commission, together with the Municipal Postal Administration, has organized research institutions such as the Transportation Research Institute and the Railway Institute, as well as enterprises such as Beijing Investment Corporation, Beijing Metro Company, Beijing-Hong Kong Metro Company, Beijing Rail Operation Company, SF Express, and China Post Beijing Branch to carry out extensive research and analysis.
Line 4 and Line 9-Fangshan-Yanfang Line were selected as the first batch of urban rail transit express transportation pilot lines in Beijing during off-peak hours.
On the basis of not adjusting the train departure time and stop time, not affecting passenger travel, and not carrying out equipment and facility modifications, the excess transportation capacity during off-peak hours will be used to organize express delivery through fixed routes and dedicated escorts.
Among them, the pilot line No. 9-Fangshan-Yanfang Line was launched on September 23, taking advantage of the sufficient capacity in the outbound direction after 9:00 am (the average full load rate of the transportation section during this period is less than 20%) to transport newspapers and periodicals.

The pilot work of Line 4 was launched on September 25, and trial operation of express transportation will only be carried out during off-peak hours on working days.

The average full load rate of the transportation section during this period is less than 50%. Get on the bus from Xidan, National Library and Weigongcun Station, and get off at Haidian Huangzhuang Station.
