According to one of the cast members of the Halo live-action series, fans can completely ignore the first season, which was criticized by gamers and viewers, and start watching the second season without any obstacles. In an interview with GamesRadar+, actor Joseph Morgan, who plays Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) officer James Ackerson in the series, said that he thinks the second season is "a good entry point for newcomers."
"I've told my family, who know about the Halo show and are excited about it, to just start watching it with season two."
He added: "The first season definitely had some great parts, a lot of value in it, and certainly some great performances from the cast. But I think (season two) is what makes the show — at least for me."
Although the first season of "Halo" reportedly cost up to $200 million, it was still criticized for its characters and plot that were out of touch with the game, as well as the uneven quality of the special effects. Season 2 has a new showrunner and promises to be a "fresh start."
"While we were filming, I asked showrunner David Wiener if there was going to be a 'hey, this is a new version of the show and we're going to break away from the first season' kind of marketing," Morgan revealed. "He said no, but I thought that was clearly the case."
The second season of "Halo" will focus on the UNSC and Master Chief dealing with the growing threat of the alien race Covenant (Covenant), and hope to adapt the "Fall of Reach" story. The events that led to the destruction of the planet are a very important part of the Halo games, comics, novels, and other official works.
