SwitchyOmega is a very well-known proxy switching extension. It has been downloaded more than one million times in Chrome Web Store alone. However, SwitchyOmega has stopped maintaining it for a long time. Even the developer @_leisuremao is surprised that this project, which uses a technology stack from 10 years ago and has not been updated in the past 6 years, can still be used for such a long time.
But this situation will not last long. Since Chrome will stop the Manifestv2 extension in June this year, all extensions that have not been migrated to Manifestv3 will not be able to be used. Naturally, SwitchyOmega will also not work properly. If you are a SwitchyOmega user, you can consider looking for alternative extensions.
The original author is also very welcome to developers who are willing to fork and maintain or update to v3, but the workload is expected to be huge, so it is better to rewrite it.
Developer's original text:
Chrome is expected to deactivate the extension ManifestV2 in June this year, and #SwitchyOmega will be unavailable by then. We hope you will know. To be honest, the technology stack from 10 years ago + projects that have not been updated in the past 6 years can still be used for so long... If anyone is willing to fork maintenance or update to V3, please feel free to do so, but the workload is expected to be huge. Moreover, these front-end technologies have been updated countless times, so it is really better to rewrite them.
