Back then, Guo Meimei attracted widespread attention for pretending to be a Red Cross staff member and showing off her wealth, which directly led to a crisis of trust in the Red Cross.
In September 2015, the Dongcheng District People's Court of Beijing ruled that Guo Meimei was guilty of opening a casino and was sentenced to 5 years in prison and fined RMB 50,000.
On July 13, 2019, Guo Meimei was released from prison for the first time.In December of that year, he publicly apologized in tears, claiming that he regretted it very much and was willing to give up everything and go back to the beginning.
But just over a year later, Guo Meimei was imprisoned again.
On March 11, 2021, Shanghai Pudong police successfully solved a case of producing and selling weight-loss foods with banned ingredients (sibutramine), and arrested 32 suspects including production staff Zeng Moumou (female, 26 years old), sales staff Zhou Moumou (female, 26 years old), and Guo Moumou (female, 30 years old).
