Bernstein released an investment insights report yesterday,It is believed that in order to ensure that Google Search is the default search engine for products such as the iPhone, Google pays Apple US$18-20 billion (currently approximately 131.22-145.8 billion yuan) every year.
The report stated, "We believe that the federal court is likely to rule against Google and force it to terminate its search agreement with Apple. According to our estimates, the ISA value paid by Google to Apple annually is US$18-20 billion, accounting for 14-16% of Apple's annual operating profits."
Bernstein said that Apple's services business unit has never disclosed relevant information, and Google has not disclosed data in this regard, but the agency believes that Google invests 22% of its advertising revenue in traffic acquisition costs, and Apple accounts for about 40% of it.
In addition, it is worth mentioning thatThe U.S. Department of Justice previously sued Google in a monopoly case, and the default search agreement between Google and Apple was also one of the key points in the case.
The agreement makes Google the default search engine for the Safari browser on Apple's iPhone and other devices, squeezing out competitors. Executives from Microsoft, Apple, search engine DuckDuckGo, and Samsung Electronics all testified in court, revealing the conflict of interests between Google and Apple.
Moreover, for Apple, this agreement also brings certain difficulties. Apple has tried and failed to replace Google with other search engines.
