Red Hat continues to hire more help for its open source Linux graphics driver team, which does a great job supporting open source graphics hardware (such as NVIDIA hardware with Nouveau), optimizing the performance of existing drivers, and making other infrastructure improvements.
Red Hat has released a new job listing for a Senior Software Engineer working in GPU hardware support:

"The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for an experienced developer to join us as a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will join our GPU team to work on Linux kernel GPU support and GPU driver development. Our team works closely with the upstream community and GPU hardware vendors to develop support for X.org, Wayland, Me Open source support for sa and DRM/KMS. Additionally, you will work with other developers on the team to develop and enhance the GPU infrastructure in the Linux kernel to support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Fedora. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business."
Red Hat's Carlos Soriano, who works on his open source Linux graphics team, posted a new job opening on Twitter.
While no specific hardware/driver is mentioned in the job posting, presumably the arrival of this new GPU hardware support engineer is at least partially due to the resignation of Ben Skeggs from his position as NouveauDRM maintainer, due to his years of work on improving the NouveauDRM kernel driver at Red Hat.
This follows other recent job postings from Red Hat as part of its efforts to bolster HDR display support and other areas of the Linux graphics stack.
