Microsoft is launching a new app for businesses, and while it will be available on most platforms, it will still be labeled as a Windows app. Today, the company announced that Windows App will be generally available on Windows, macOS, iOS, and the web later this fall. It is designed to connect users to cloud Windows PC desktops.
Microsoft said in a blog post that the new Windows application will support connecting to the desktop through Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Remote PC, Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft DevBox, etc. It also added

On Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft will replace the current Windows 365 apps launching in February 2023 with new Windows apps. Users of the iOS and MacOS Remote Desktop app will also see it change to the Windows app, while web users will simply visit the new Windows app URL. Businesses can learn more about these applications and access current public previews through the support site.
Microsoft also plans to launch Windows apps for Android devices. However, it was launched later than other versions. The company plans to launch a public preview of the Android Windows app on the Google Play Store later this fall.
Microsoft says that once all these apps are generally available, customers can expect a "consistent experience" across all apps and no functionality issues.
