According to the Central Meteorological Observatory, the center of this year's No. 13 typhoon "Bebiga" (severe tropical storm level) was located on the northwest Pacific Ocean about 1,130 kilometers east-south of Naha City, Ryukyu Islands, at 5 o'clock today (September 13). At 21.1 degrees north latitude and 137.3 degrees east longitude, the maximum wind force near the center is level 11 (30 meters/second), the minimum air pressure in the center is 980 hPa, the radius of the wind circle of level 7 is 100-300 kilometers, and the radius of the wind circle of level 10 is 60 kilometers.
It is expected that "Bebiga" will move northwest at a speed of about 25 kilometers per hour and gradually increase in intensity.
On the night of the 14th, it passed through the Ryukyu Islands and moved into the eastern part of the East China Sea, and then approached the coast of Zhejiang and Fujian. It will make landfall on the coast from Shanghai to northern Fujian from the night of the 15th to the morning of the 16th (strong typhoon level, level 14-15, 42-48 meters/second), and then gradually weaken in intensity.
The Zhejiang Provincial Hydrological Center has determined that "Beibijia" is characterized by high strength and fast movement.
According to the analysis of the landing site, path and intensity of this typhoon, "Bebiga" is similar to "Haikui" which landed in Xiangshan in 2012, "Capricorn" which landed in Wenling in 2018, and "Likima" which landed in Wenling in 2019.
In addition, the Mid-Autumn Festival coincides with the astronomical high tide, and the typhoon surge will increase the water. The superposition of the two will lead to a more obvious high tide, strong winds and waves will occur in coastal areas, and the defense situation will become more severe.
