According to reports, on Wednesday local time, Amazon's cloud computing department announced that it will launch a "sovereign independent cloud" service in Europe. This cloud computing service will be mainly targeted at government agencies in EU countries and some special industries that are highly regulated by the government.

Amazon's cloud computing department said in a statement that in the EU's sovereign independent cloud service, all data will be stored on network servers located in the EU. In addition, only Amazon cloud computing department employees with citizenship of EU countries can control business operations and provide technical support.

The EU is at the forefront of the world in terms of personal privacy protection and network security legislation on the Internet. Last year, the EU's privacy protection agency launched a special investigation to find out whether EU government agencies complied with EU privacy protection laws when using cloud computing services from Internet companies.

Traditionally, enterprises or government departments would set up internal network computer rooms and business software systems, but now, cloud computing has set off a new wave of new technologies around the world, and enterprises and governments are increasingly adopting public cloud services provided by large technology companies.

Previously, other cloud computing service providers in the United States, such as Microsoft and Oracle, also launched special cloud computing services specifically for EU government agency customers.

Amazon's cloud computing department stated that the above-mentioned "EU sovereign independent cloud service" will first be launched in Germany, and will later cover more customers in the EU.
