OmniVision today released the industry's first image sensor OV05C10 specifically developed for notebook computers, with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 5.2 million pixels.According to reports,OV05C10 is a low-power back-illuminated (BSI) image sensor, 1/4.7-inch low-power, using OmniVision's PureCelPlus technology, has higher sensitivity, lower noise and better overall image quality.

At the same time, the OV05C10 supports a double-exposure interleaved HDR option of 5.2 million pixels at 60 frames/second, which can provide higher image quality in environments with large differences between light and dark. This sensor also has an ultra-low power consumption mode to support the HPD function, which can effectively extend battery life.

In addition, OV05C10 can support a variety of AI functions including HPD. Its higher resolution and unique aspect ratio are more suitable for computer video conferencing. High dynamic range support can effectively ensure higher image quality during video calls.

Howe OV05C10 is now sampling and will be put into mass production in February 2024.
