Apple is continuing testing of the iOS 17.2 update. The third beta includes new features and improvements to existing features. We're still in the early stages of the testing process, which means there are new discoveries to come. iOS 17.2 Beta 3 is currently available to developers, but Apple should make the update available to public testers later this week.
In the Music section of the Settings app, there's now an option to add songs to your library when they're favorited. This feature is on by default, but can be turned off if desired.
Apple has added an option to disable word predictions while typing. You can access this option by opening the Settings app, selecting General, and going to Keyboard.
In the Phone and FaceTime settings, there is a "Share name and photo" option using a contact poster. You can set Name and Photo Sharing to Off, Contacts Only, or Always Ask, which prompts you before sharing the information with others. This setting previously worked for the Messages app.
You'll now receive a warning if you join a FaceTime call that includes a contact you've blocked. Apple will warn you when you join a call with a blocked contact, or when a blocked contact joins a call you're already in.
When you open the Photos app after updating to iOS17.2beta3, a prompt will appear to allow photos to access the Apple Music library. This way, Photos can use Apple Music to curate songs for Memories.
Once access is enabled, Photos will be listed as an app to access Apple Music under Settings > Privacy & Security. It should be noted that Photos already has this feature, but Apple now provides the option to turn off access.
