According to a Weibo post by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the construction of the offshore platform foundation of the Shuangyumen Bridge, built by the China Railway Construction Port and Navigation Bureau, has been completed and has officially entered the construction stage of the main offshore tower. It is understood that the Shuangyumen Bridge connects two independent islands, Liuheng Island and Fodu Island. It is a key control project of the second phase of the Liuheng Highway Bridge in Ningbo Zhoushan Port. With a main span of 1,768 meters, it is the largest span sea-crossing bridge in my country and the largest single-tower steel box girder suspension bridge in the world.

The offshore cap platform of the Shuangyumen Fodu side cable tower constructed this time is 27 meters in diameter and 7 meters high. Both the left and right cap platforms use steel-concrete combined hanging box cofferdams for cap construction. A single steel-concrete combined hanging box weighs about 750 tons.

Since the start of construction in November 2022, various construction work surfaces have blossomed. At present, important nodes such as the pouring of the first offshore pile foundation, the onshore cap platform pouring, and the pouring of offshore cable tower pile foundations have been completed.

The project is expected to be completed in 2027. Once the bridge is completed and opened to traffic, it will effectively improve the external traffic conditions of Zhoushan's southern archipelago and further optimize the spatial layout of the Zhoushan Archipelago New Area.
