Apple this week increased the monthly price of AppleCare+ for iPhones, raising the cost by 50 cents for all models in the United States. For example, standard AppleCare+ for iPhone 16 models is now $10.49 per month, up from $9.99 per month. The 50-cent price increase applies to all AppleCare+ plans for Apple's current iPhone lineup, including the Standard plan and the Theft and Loss plan.

There are no changes to the price of the two-year AppleCare+ package, nor are the service fees and deductibles. The increased prices only apply when paying monthly for AppleCare+.

However, Apple did not increase the price of its AppleCare+ subscription plan for iPad, Mac or Apple Watch.

Apple is adjusting the price of the iPhone AppleCare+ monthly plan as it prepares to convert the AppleCare+ purchase option into a subscription plan. Apple will phase out the one-time AppleCare+ plan at retail stores starting this week.

In Apple retail stores, users who purchase AppleCare+ can choose to renew AppleCare+ on a monthly or annual basis, which can avoid insurance lapse and bring continuous income to Apple after two years.

Apple will temporarily retain the option to purchase AppleCare+ as a one-time option in its online store, so users who prefer to purchase a non-renewable AppleCare+ plan that expires in two years will still have the option to do so.
