It's going to be an easy week for the Mesa graphics driver, Wayland, various other X.Org related components, and dozens of other open source projects that rely on FreeDesktop.orgGitLab to facilitate merge requests, CI testing, and related infrastructure. FreeDesktop.org server/cloud migration work has begun and will likely last until the end of next week.
FreeDesktop.org / They ultimately decided to use a Hetzner hosting and migration strategy, which would take a week to complete transitioning all their data and services to the new environment.
The migration process started yesterday (March 16th) and they hope to restore GitLab services by March 22nd. Current status and details can be found at gitlab.freedesktop.org.
So it's going to be a quiet week for the numerous Linux desktop-related projects that rely on FreeDesktop.orgGitLab, as features such as merge processing and other centralized Git-related infrastructure and error reporting are lost. Hopefully some developers can get some well-deserved rest and relaxation.
