Mark Waid has described A New History of the DC Universe as his "dream project", joining Jerry Ordway and Todd Nuck for the first of a four-issue limited series. Other yet-to-be-announced artists will draw each issue.
Mark Waid said: "This is an opportunity to reunite all of DC's complicated timelines into one master timeline and work with some of the greatest artists in comics to make it even better. With new news for even long-time fans and countless Easter eggs, this series will become a must-read for DC fans."
Mark Waid also introduced: "In this case, the story will be told by the classic Flash Barry Allen. His appearance not only opened the Silver Age of comics, but also opened the modern DC universe. The Flash will travel through time and travel in four comics. The first issue will cover the period from prehistoric times to the founding of the Justice League, the first superhero team."
Here's a look at the covers from the first issue, which basically show off all the DC characters in the order they're depicted in each issue of the comic.
