2023, Intel “Meteor Lake-S” (MTL-S) desktop processor
Industry insiders insist that Intel is still actively producing MTL-S samples at the end of 2023, and these internal rumors have been confirmed to be true. On Monday (March 24), the mysterious "Q46W" engineering sample was revealed, and these images were provided by Kyoka. CPU-Z diagnostics show that the unannounced CPU has a turbo acceleration capability of 4.5GHz, while the base frequency is 2.8GHz.
This very special desktop processor uses MeteorLake architecture and has 6 performance cores and 8 energy efficiency cores (6P+8E), but the performance core (P-Core) does not support hyper-threading. The production date of the product obtained is the 51st week of 2023, which is obviously later than the previously reported time when MeteorLake-S canceled external sales. From this point of view, ‘Q46W’ may be a development and test processor for the FCLGA1851 platform or 800 series chipset. Kyoka believes that this processor should be in the ES2 stage.
Xianyu seller tbNick_3u8k4 is reportedly selling a large number of "Intel Confidential Q46W" processors, which are said to have production dates dating back to early 2024. Photos show the pallet-packed equipment for sale on the Taobao second-hand market platform. tbNick_3u8k4 mentioned that this batch of Q46W chips "requires a special motherboard to light up," suggesting that off-the-shelf models based on Intel's 800 series chipsets are not compatible with it.
