Foxconn, Apple's top contract manufacturer, has been trying for years to diversify its iPhone assembly facilities beyond China and has factories in India, Vietnam and Brazil. According to MacMagazine, iPhone 16e retail boxes sold in Brazil have an "Assembled in Brazil - Brazilian Industry" label. The device has model number A3409 and identifier MD1R4BR/A.

This is not the first time Foxconn has produced iPhones in Brazil, as it has been assembling iPhone SE 2020, as well as standard iPhone 13, 14, 15 and 16 models in Brazil. In light of Trump's recent Liberation Day tariffs, Apple is looking to expand in countries with more favorable tariffs, and Brazil's 10% import tax is one of the lowest.
