TVB announces collaboration with Tencent to remake Jin Yong's "The Swordsman"

Recently, TVB (Television Broadcasting Co., Ltd.) held a press conference in Guangzhou. TVB's 77 Studio announced a strategic cooperation with Tencent Video. The two parties formally signed the "Memorandum of Cooperation on Joint Production of Film and Television Series". Two key cooperation projects were announced at the press conference:They are Jin Yong's martial arts classic "The Swordsman" and the urban emotional drama "The War of the Roses". The former will be jointly produced by top production teams from both parties, incorporating innovative narrative techniques and advanced production technology.

It is reported that the new version will be filmed in Cantonese, and the casting will be more open, with opportunities to invite actors from the 96 version. This is the second time TVB has adapted a Jin Yong work in many years.

It is understood that TVB has filmed two versions of "The Swordsman", one is the 1984 version starring Chow Yun-fat, and the other is the 1996 Lu Songxian version. This is also the best-rated version so far.

After TVB officially announced the remake of "The Swordsman", many netizens began to discuss who would play the role of Linghu Chong.
