Hurun Report recently released the "2025 Global Unicorn List", which lists the world's unlisted companies established after 2000 with a value of more than US$1 billion.Overall, the number of unicorn companies in the world reached 1,523, a record, an increase of 70 from last year (an increase of nearly 5%).

The United States leads the way with 758 companies, accounting for 49.77%, China ranks second with 343 companies, accounting for 22.52%, and there are more than 60 companies including India and the United Kingdom.

77% of unicorns sell software and services, focusing on financial technology, software services, and AI fields; 23% sell physical products, focusing on semiconductors, new energy, biotechnology, and health technology.

Top three companies:

SpaceX (USA, established in 2002):With a value of 2.6 trillion yuan, it became the world’s largest unicorn for the first time, with a value increasing by 1.2 trillion yuan compared with last year.

ByteDance (China, established in 2012):The value increased by 584 billion yuan to 2.2 trillion yuan, falling from first to tied for second.

OpenAI (USA, established in 2015):The value increased by 1.5 trillion yuan to 2.2 trillion yuan, and the ranking rose one place to second.

The threshold for the top ten companies was raised to 330 billion yuan, with a total value of 10.6 trillion yuan. The United States accounted for 6 companies, China accounted for 3 companies, and the United Kingdom accounted for 1 company.

Currently, AI is also the focus of the list, with 478 AI-related unicorns and 128 pure AI companies with a total value of nearly US$1 trillion.
