Recently, the comprehensive verification test of the landing and takeoff of my country's lunar lander was successfully completed at the extraterrestrial body landing test site in Huailai County, Hebei Province, marking a new important breakthrough in the development of my country's manned lunar exploration project.The lunar lander is a newly developed extraterrestrial manned descent and ascent vehicle for my country's first manned lunar exploration mission. It is mainly used to transport astronauts between the lunar orbit and the lunar surface. It can carry two astronauts back and forth, and can carry a lunar rover and scientific payloads. It can support astronauts to carry out lunar surface residence and lunar surface activities.

According to CCTV News, the test site is covered with gravel and is dotted with large and small circular pits, simulating the terrain characteristics of the lunar surface to increase the pertinence of the test.

During the test, the lunar lander will independently find suitable terrain for landing when landing.

During the test, the engine was actually ignited to simulate the process of the lunar lander landing on the lunar surface and taking off from the moon. The lunar surface landing and takeoff system scheme, control scheme, lunar shutdown scheme, GNC and propulsion sub-system interface matching were comprehensively verified.

The comprehensive verification test of the landing and take-off of the lunar lander is the first landing and take-off test of a manned spacecraft on an extraterrestrial body in my country. It is a milestone node in the development of the preliminary prototype of the lunar lander and a key node in the development of my country's manned lunar exploration project.

It comprehensively covers the performance verification of the lunar lander under various conditions during the entire process of landing and takeoff on the lunar surface.

The lunar lander is composed of the lunar module and the propulsion module. The two modules separate the propulsion module during the powered descent. The lunar module lands on the moon alone. After completing the lunar surface mission, the whole takes off. This round of landing and takeoff comprehensive verification test conducted a 1:1 verification of the flight process during mission implementation.

During the test, the functions and performance of the lunar lander under various working conditions were comprehensively verified by simulating the lunar environment in an all-round way.

As the lunar home of astronauts, the lunar lander is the lunar surface life center, energy center and data center for astronauts after landing on the moon, and can support lunar surface residence and lunar surface activities.
