NotebookLM, the AI-powered note-taking and research app owned by Google, released several updates earlier this week. First, the search giant says the video overview feature is now available in 80 languages around the world, in line with the audio overview feature that already supports all of those languages.

The video overview feature was showcased at the Google I/O 2025 conference earlier this year. This feature is designed to generate a video presentation based on the data you enter into NotebookLM. It can extract images, charts, quotes, and numbers from your documents and let an AI moderator speak the summary in a natural voice.

The feature was previously limited to English, but now you can generate video overviews in French, German, Greek, Portuguese, Japanese, Spanish, and more. "The non-English audio overview will now provide the same rich and detailed experience as the English version, allowing you to discuss your sources more deeply in all supported languages," Google said in a blog post.

Google also added that NotebookLM’s audio overview function has also received a major upgrade, making it more comprehensive and in-depth. NotebookLM now supports over 80 non-English languages and can generate a complete audio overview.

Previously limited to English, this AI note-taking app can now generate complete, coherent discussions rather than just quick highlights. You can still generate a short overview if you wish. Both features in NotebookLM have begun rolling out and will be available to all users worldwide in the coming weeks.
