After India, OpenAI has expanded its affordable ChatGPT Go subscription plans to Indonesia. The company launched the ChatGPT Go paid plan in India last month for less than $5 per month, and now it has launched the same service in Indonesia at a price of 75,000 Indonesian rupiah (about $4.50) per month.

ChatGPT Go is a mid-range subscription option between OpenAI’s free version and the premium $20 per month ChatGPT Plus version. This plan has 10 times the usage limit than free users, including functions such as sending questions or tips, generating pictures, uploading files, etc. Additionally, ChatGPT remembers previous conversations better than the free version, providing more personalized responses over time. Nick Turley, who is responsible for ChatGPT business at OpenAI, said on the X platform that since the Go version was launched in India, the number of paying users has more than doubled.

The move also puts OpenAI in direct competition with Google. Earlier this month, Google launched a similarly priced AI Plus subscription plan in Indonesia. In addition to providing the Gemini 2.5 Pro chatbot, GoogleAI Plus can also use creative tools such as Flow, Whisk and Veo 3 Fast for image and video creation, and has upgraded its AI research assistant NotebookLM with more features, integrating AI capabilities into Gmail, Docs and Sheets, and also includes 200GB cloud storage space.
