According to news on December 10, Tesla will release the 2023 holiday update next week, including major improvements, such as the vehicle's ability to automatically dial 911 when the airbag deploys in a collision. On Thursday, U.S. time, Tesla announced that it will be updated next week and highlighted other upcoming features, such as support for Apple Podcasts (Apple Podcasts), support for rear screen Bluetooth headsets, an updated version of the parking assist system with 3D visual effects, and new blind spot indicators.
Apple Podcasts supports Apple Music, a feature Tesla added last year. NotaTeslaApp, a professional electric vehicle media, stated that Tesla users can synchronize podcasts with Apple devices.
The website also revealed other details of the 2023.44.25 update. For example, Tesla owners no longer need to prepare separate USB drives for each light show; now, the electric vehicle can read them from a single storage drive.
NotaTeslaApp also mentioned that while this update will add B-pillar cameras to the Tesla app’s live Sentry view, these cameras will not record dash cam and Sentry Mode events.
In addition, a screenshot of the blind spot indicator video posted by NotATeslaApp shows that when the car detects another vehicle, a red flash will appear in the video of the lane change camera to remind the driver not to change lanes.
Tesla released these extra features after someone on the X complained that leaked information showed the update was "bad." Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded: "We need to step up our game."
It’s worth noting that Tesla’s holiday updates in previous years also brought major features. Last year, in addition to supporting Apple Music, the company also integrated Steam. In 2021, Tesla added TikTok and Sonic the Hedgehog to the support list.
New game updates this year include a tower defense game called CastleDoombad, as well as a more secure back-screen game. Tesla has previously put gaming features on the front screen, sparking concern from regulators.
