OpenAI’s AI video generation app Sora has been downloaded more than 1 million times in less than five days since its launch. Although Sora is currently open on an invitation-only basis, its download speeds are already exceeding those of ChatGPT when it was first launched, Sora head Bill Peebles said on Wednesday.
OpenAI launched a new version of the Sora app on the iOS platform on September 30. Users can not only browse video content automatically generated by AI, but also generate videos independently based on the latest Sora 2 model. Sora has also introduced a “cameo” feature that allows users to insert themselves or their friends’ images into AI videos. The popularity of the Sora app has also sparked some controversy.
