Intel fell premarket on Wednesday after reports that Nvidia was suspending testing of making advanced chips using Intel's production processes. Reuters reported, citing two unnamed people familiar with the matter, that Nvidia recently tested the so-called 18A process, but then stopped advancing related work.

Spokespersons for Nvidia and Intel did not immediately respond to requests for comment. An Intel spokesperson told Reuters that the company's 18A process technology is "progressing well."

Intel recently opened a new factory called Fab 52 at its Ocotillo campus in Arizona. This is the first factory to use 18A technology to achieve mass production. The company says this is the most cutting-edge production technology developed and deployed in the United States.
