Red Star News reports,The world's first eVTOL aircraft dedicated to aviation emergency rescue, the "Wenyu" WY1600, has officially rolled off the assembly line recently and started field testing. This model was jointly developed by Sichuan Xunfei Aviation Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (Xunfei Airlines) and West China Hospital of Sichuan University. It is specially designed for emergency medical rescue and will be used to transport people and materials at disaster sites such as earthquakes and snowstorms.

The "Wenyu" WY1600 has a maximum take-off weight of 1.8 tons and can carry one pilot, two medical staff and one patient on a stretcher. It has a maximum range of 300 kilometers and a cruising speed of 250 kilometers per hour.
The aircraft adopts an advanced power layout with a forward tilting rotor combined with a ducted lift fan, and is the first to be equipped with a life-saving parachute. It supports two flexible modes of vertical takeoff and landing and taxiing takeoff and landing, achieving an integrated design of efficient flight and safety assurance, and has significant commercial competitiveness in future low-altitude transfer operation scenarios.
Against the background of the booming low-altitude economy, Qingyang District is actively developing the low-altitude economic industry chain, while Chongzhou has become an ideal testing and application base with 767.1 square kilometers of test flight airspace and an average of 300 flying days per year.
