According to media reports, Dong Mingzhu, chairman of Gree Electric Appliances, talked about the topic of "factory intelligence" at an event recently. During the period, Dong Mingzhu mentioned that the packaging process in Gree's workshop used to require manual labor, but now the packaging process has been fully automated through independent research and development."So, these ubiquitous things are robots. I just want to say, (should) they have to be turned into a human form. I don't know if it can be called a robot if it is human-shaped, and if it is not human-shaped, it cannot be called a robot."
When asked about how many such smart factories are currently displayed in the exhibition area, Dong Mingzhu responded: "(In the future) we will gradually all be (smart factories)."
So, what do the manpower freed up in these smart factories do? Dong Mingzhu said: "There are so many things they can do. Our company never lays off employees, that's for sure. But we can let them go to further their studies. We send many people to serve in the military every year."
She said that in fact, there is no need to worry about (the replacement of workers by intelligence). "Of course, you have to keep upgrading yourself. You can't have the idea of lying down. You can't just lie down just because you won't be fired. In fact, more of us are responsible for managing equipment. Technology is upgrading and changing. We must adapt to this change and improve our capabilities."
