On January 13, Tesla officially announced adjustments to the overtime occupancy fee for Super Charging.The first is to adjust the charging trigger conditions:Only when there are no free parking spaces in the super charging station, the overtime occupancy fee (6.4 yuan/minute) will be incurred.Second, the grace period for stay is extended:If the vehicle leaves the charging parking space within 20 minutes after charging starts, it will not be charged (originally 5 minutes). Tesla emphasized that the purpose of launching this measure is to improve customer satisfaction, not to make profits.
Tesla said that in the envisioned future scenario, the vehicle can automatically drive away from the charging station after the battery is full, which not only facilitates the owner but also improves the efficiency of the charging network. But before this idea can be realized, Tesla requires car owners to actively vacate the parking space for the next owner after being fully charged, just as a fuel vehicle will leave the gas station after being filled with gas.
