The case of Gao Ruoxiang, the holder of the car blogger's "It turns out to be Xiangxiang" account, was suspected of damaging the reputation of the product, and the trial opened today in the People's Court of Haidian District, Beijing. It is reported that the account "It turns out to be Xiangxiang" has more than one million fans. In August 2024, its team released a collision test video of Xiaomi SU7 and Jikrypton 007, claiming to cost nearly one million yuan.

During the test, the collision speed was 60 kilometers per hour and the collision was carried out with an overlap rate of 90%. As a result, the Xiaomi SU7 suffered a power outage from the small battery and the door could not be opened.

However, some scenes in the video raised questions. Netizens claimed that there were differences between the Xiaomi SU7 small batteries shown in the before and after pictures. The blogger responded that the battery was intact when it was removed, but was damaged by a forklift when it was packed into a truck.

Many people accused Gao Ruoxiang's team of stealing and replacing small batteries for filming, deliberately creating a situation where Xiaomi cars would run out of power after a collision, in order to deliberately discredit Xiaomi cars.

At that time, Xiaomi Motors also stated: After analysis, we believe that this so-called "test" was not rigorously set up, the records were incomplete, and the conclusions were untrue.

Afterwards, the blogger issued an apology, but it still caused huge controversy.

Xiaomi's Legal Department issued a document in January 2025 stating that it had learned from judicial authorities that a platform blogger and many of his accomplices suspected of maliciously smearing Xiaomi Auto's business reputation and product reputation have been arrested and brought to justice in accordance with the law.

The official bluntly stated that its so-called test video intentionally misled the public. The "test" methods and conclusions contained many serious fallacies and biases, which caused extremely bad effects on the Internet and seriously damaged Xiaomi's business reputation.

After the incident, Xiaomi immediately secured evidence, carried out legal rights protection work, and resolutely defended the company's legitimate rights and interests.

Haidian police opened a case for investigation, and the procuratorate soon arrested the person involved. His video account has been suspended since November 18, 2024.
