Artificial intelligence company Perplexity today released a new feature suite "Perplexity Health" that allows its services to access personal health data with user authorization through a series of health data connectors. Perplexity said that this function is designed to integrate health information scattered in different portals, applications and devices, conduct long-term tracking and trend analysis of multiple biological indicators, and provide visual display through personalized dashboards.

When users ask health-related questions, Perplexity Health combines electronic medical records, lab results, and data collected from wearable devices to generate answers. In conjunction with the company's AI agent tool "Perplexity Computer", relevant agents can also generate customized fitness plans, nutrition plans, etc. based on personal health conditions. Currently, Perplexity Health is the first to be open to Pro and Max subscribers in the United States on the Computer side.
According to reports, the medical information sources used by Perplexity Health include "high-quality medical literature" such as clinical guidelines and peer-reviewed journals. The company has also established a "Perplexity Health Advisory Board" composed of doctors, scientific researchers and digital health technology experts to review and "stress test" product decisions, content quality and clinical safety protection measures based on evidence-based medical standards.
In terms of data access, Perplexity Health has supported Apple Health and can integrate Apple Watch and related data entered into the Apple Health app. In addition, the service is also compatible with device platforms such as Fitbit, Ultrahuman, Withings, and can connect to electronic health records from more than 1.7 million medical service institutions; integrated support for Oura and Function will be launched later.
Perplexity emphasizes that all health data is stored encrypted and strict access control mechanisms are set up, so users can manage or delete relevant information at any time. The company also promises that health data will not be used to train AI models or sold to third parties.
It is worth mentioning that Perplexity is the second AI company to integrate with Apple Health after OpenAI. OpenAI previously launched ChatGPT Health functionality with Apple Health support in early 2026.
