Volvo's first pure electric sedan officially announced that it will be in the same class as the S90 and is expected to be mass-produced in 2024

Recently,Volvo rolled off a prototype code-named V551.It is revealed thatThe car will be Volvo's first pure electric sedan and will be mass-produced in May 2024 and released in 2025.It is worth mentioning that this car is also the first new global model developed by the Shanghai engineering team.

Judging from previously announced information,The car will be built on the SPA2 platform and equipped with a 111kWh battery pack, which is the same as the previously released EX90.

For reference, the EX90's dual motors have a maximum power of 300kW and a peak torque of 769 N·m. The high-performance version has a maximum power of 370kW and a peak torque of 909 N·m.

In terms of size,The length, width and height of the V551 are 4999/1946/1547mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 3102mm, which is longer than the wheelbase of the S90.

After the car is launched, it will compete with BMW i5, Mercedes-Benz EQE and Audi A6e-tron.
