Documents show that the game console code-named "Brooklin" is the successor to the Xbox Series X and is priced at $499; the game console code-named "Ellewood" is the follow-up to the Xbox Series S and is priced at $299. The key changes in the Xbox game console update are improved power consumption, better wireless technology, more built-in storage and a redesign of the physical structure; the updated Xbox game console will be equipped with a redesigned controller code-named "Sebile".

The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S game consoles currently on sale by Microsoft were launched in 2020. Microsoft's update of its Xbox console after four years is in line with the console maker's typical approach of reviving consumer interest at a time when sales momentum may be slowing.
