Two years ago, OpenAI's technical team published a blog post detailing that the company had developed the ability to reproduce human voices with the help of cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology. Researchers said that the technical level of this new software is extremely high, and out of a high degree of caution, OpenAI has decided not to make it public for the time being.

Although the company's position has not changed, it has not stopped research and development of related technologies. Two people familiar with the matter revealed that this year OpenAI quietly acquired Weights.gg, a small start-up that provides artificial intelligence tools for human voice cloning.

The acquisition has not been disclosed, and the specific terms of the transaction are currently unknown. People familiar with the acquisition said that OpenAI took over the company's small team and all its intellectual property. Weights.gg announced in March this year that it would shut down its various services.

Weights.gg focuses on building a platform community for users to develop and share various artificial intelligence algorithms. Users can achieve sound cloning and other related operations through its free application Replay for ordinary users.
