According to CCTV news reports, at 11:26 on December 26, 2023, my country used the Long March 3B carrier rocket and the Yuanzheng 1 upper stage at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. The 57th and 58th Beidou navigation satellites were successfully launched. This group of satellites is a medium earth orbit satellite. It is the first group of MEO satellites launched after the completion and opening of my country's Beidou-3 global satellite navigation system. After entering orbit and completing on-orbit testing, it will be connected to the Beidou satellite navigation system.

According to reports, compared with the previous MEO networking satellites, this group of satellites has further upgraded its functional performance in terms of global short message communication capacity, spaceborne atomic clock technology, and payload intelligence.

After being connected to the network, the reliability and service performance of the Beidou system will be further improved, which is of great significance to supporting the stable operation and large-scale application of the system.Laying the foundation for the design of the next generation of Beidou satellites.

Regarding the next-generation Beidou system, Ran Chengqi, director of the China Satellite Navigation System Management Office, previously introduced that the next generation is called a more ubiquitous, smarter, and more integrated system.

Generally speaking, the Beidou system is still the core, but all emerging technologies related to space-time information will be integrated into this system for unified coordination, simultaneous development, and accelerated development. It is expected that this space-time system will be fully completed in 2035.

After the next generation Beidou system is completed,No matter at any time or anywhere in the world, there is Beidou and China's space-time system provides everyone with safe and reliable space-time technology.

It is understood that the Beidou Satellite System is a satellite navigation system independently constructed and operated by my country. It is an important national space infrastructure that provides positioning, navigation and timing services to users around the world.
