Analysts at market research firm QUICKFactSet expect that in the fiscal year ending in January 2024,Nvidia's revenue will surpass Intel and Samsung Electronics, becoming the largest revenue in the semiconductor industry. The agency said that Nvidia’s revenue for the entire fiscal year is expected to reach US$58.8 billion (approximately 420.2 billion yuan),It has doubled compared with the same period last year.
Samsung Electronics’ semiconductor division’s revenue for the entire fiscal year is expected to be US$49 billion (approximately 350.2 billion yuan), a year-on-year decrease of 34%; Intel’s revenue during the same period is expected to drop 14% to US$53.9 billion (approximately 385.2 billion yuan).
Data show that in the 25 years from 1992 to 2017,Intel has always occupied the first place in the field of semiconductor revenue. After 2017, Samsung Electronics caught up and competed with Intel for the top spot.
But as artificial intelligence becomes more popular around the world in 2023,NVIDIA's chip sales have increased significantly, coupled with the oversupply and demand of memory chips in the past two years, resulting in a sharp decline in the revenue of companies such as Samsung Electronics.
Therefore, Nvidia has become the new king of the semiconductor industry in the past 30 years.
