Due to Australia's new cybersecurity regulations, Australian players may need to use a real driver's license and other identification documents to complete age verification in the future before they can play "GTA6".

For Australian players, trying to experience "GTA6" may become quite cumbersome - they may even need to prove that they are of age before they can start the first mission of the game.

New Australian regulations require identity verification to play "GTA6"

According to News.com.au, Australia’s new cybersecurity law that officially came into effect in March this year stipulates that players must undergo mandatory age verification before playing games such as “GTA6”.

Since "GTA6" is expected to receive an R18+ (18+ restricted rating) rating, Rockstar is obliged to confirm that all players are of age. This means players may need to submit official documentation such as ID or a real driver's license for verification.

If Rockstar fails to comply with relevant regulations, it may also face serious penalties, including civil penalties of up to A$49.5 million per violation.

Although "GTA6" will not include an online mode when it launches, and the current official promotion also positions it as a single-player game, the current "GTA Online" already requires players to complete identity verification before they can play.

Not just Australia, players in other countries have more restrictions

Australia isn't the only country where access to GTA 6 is restricted.

In Tajikistan, the "GTA" series has been completely banned. The local government believes that the series of games will incite crime and promote "murder, theft and violence", so players will not be able to legally play "GTA6".

At the same time, some people in Russia called on Rockstar to launch a harmonious version of "GTA6" and expressed dissatisfaction with some previously leaked game content, including elements such as male strippers.
