Apple has been repeatedly reported to be introducing OLED technology for the first time with its M3 iPad Pro models later this year. DSCC (DisplaySupplyChainConsultants, display supply chain consulting company) CEO Ross Young gave a routine update on the upcoming tablet displays and believed that Apple will introduce various technologies to this series of similar products for the first time. Therefore, the analyst gave high praise to OLED panels.

It is reported that both the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models will use LTPO backplanes, which is similar to the technology used in Apple’s latest iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. RossYoung said the upcoming device will also be the first of its kind to use stacked layers in series. Stacking the layers in series helps quadruple the durability of the iPad Pro OLED panel while increasing total brightness to twice its maximum level.

Apple and Samsung were said to have been at a stalemate earlier as they tried to reach a deal to have the Korean manufacturer supply these high-quality displays. Young commented in his post that the tablets will feature "the brightest, longest-lasting OLEDs" thanks to tandem stacking technology.

In addition, the transition from miniLED to OLED means Apple can make these displays even thinner, so the M3 iPad Pro may have a thinner and lighter body. We can't comment on how this will negatively impact its aluminum body, though. Unfortunately, while Apple will likely want to preserve the price of its upcoming M3 iPad Pro models, the rising costs associated with adopting advanced OLED technology will likely force Apple to charge a hefty premium to its loyal users.

The new product line is rumored to start at $1,500, and that's just for the 11-inch version. If you add more storage space and cellular connectivity to the overall configuration, these tablets could cost closer to $2,000 each, potentially putting buyers off.
