Apple has announced that it will open a new retail store in the Hongdae area of Seoul, South Korea at 10 a.m. local time on Saturday, January 20. To celebrate this occasion, Apple has released a special wallpaper for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Users can download it for free by visiting the retail store page: https://www.apple.com/kr/retail/hongdae/
The Apple logo on the wallpaper adopts a colorful graffiti style, symbolizing the art and youth culture of the Hongdae area. As Michael Steeber pointed out in his Tabletops newsletter, there is "홍대" (Hongdae) hidden in the logo.
The store will be located at No. 140 Yanghwa-ro, near Hongik University, and will provide Genius Bar reservation services and "Apple Today" creative courses.
January 20th is also the day when Apple permanently closes its Infinite Loop and Royal Hawaiian stores in the United States.
