According to the China Meteorological Administration,In 2023, China's meteorological information construction will be fully accelerated, and a new generation of meteorological supercomputing system has been built, with computing power increased by 6.5 times.At present, an intensive intelligent grid forecasting process of "one change, the whole network is updated" has been built. The data transmission efficiency has been increased by 12 times, and the "Wind and Cloud Earth" quick scanning product time has been shortened to 3 minutes.

At the same time, a number of core meteorological technologies have achieved breakthroughs. The Global Assimilation Forecasting System version 4.0 is operational, the horizontal resolution of the model has been increased to 12.5 kilometers, and the number of available forecast days in the Northern Hemisphere has stably exceeded 8 days for the first time.

Intelligent grid forecasting has been expanded to three dimensions and globally, and the forecast accuracy has increased by 4.6% on average; the 24-hour average path forecast error of typhoons is 62 kilometers, the best in history; the accuracy of 24-hour heavy rain forecast has reached a new high; and the lead time of severe convective weather warning signals has reached 43 minutes.

Comprehensive observation has achieved a four-track network of "morning, afternoon, dawn, and tilt"; 123 new weather radars have been built, and the national radar coverage has increased by 5.5% year-on-year.

According to statistics, meteorological services will have significant benefits in disaster prevention and reduction in 2023, and meteorological information will save the public from disaster (meteorological disaster) losses of approximately 560 billion yuan.
