Reliable sources say Apple is testing 27-inch and 32-inch OLED panels, which are expected to be used in next-generation iMac models. In July this year, foreign media reported that Apple may launch a 32-inch iMac at the end of 2024 or early 2025. An analyst who has long followed Apple said the company is developing a larger-screen version of the iMac with a 32-inch display, which is in the early stages of development.

Foreign media said that Apple's testing of 27-inch and 32-inch OLED panels will be part of the company's strategy to convert all of its devices, including iPads and Macs, to OLED displays.

In April this year, market research organization Omdia predicted that Apple will gradually replace existing displays with OLED displays in the next few years to improve the visual effects and quality of the device and enhance the user experience.

Omdia also believes that Apple will release the first iPad model with an OLED display in 2024, starting with the iPad Pro, followed by an OLED version of the MacBook Pro in 2026.

Omdia said that by 2027, Apple will replace almost all iPads, MacBooks and external monitors with OLED displays.

The latest reports from foreign media claim that a foldable MacBook equipped with a 20-inch OLED display is continuing to be developed, while the first traditional 14-inch and 16-inch OLED MacBook Pro are now expected to be released in 2027 instead of 2026.

OLED panels are becoming more and more common. They are most prominently used in products such as mobile phones, media players, and small entry-level TVs. They have the characteristics of no backlight, high contrast, thin thickness, wide viewing angle, fast response speed, can be used in flexible panels, wide operating temperature range, and simple structure and process.
