According to reports, after a resident initially called the police, the police found through investigation that many elderly people in the area were using this model of mobile phone. The mobile phone automatically ordered value-added services inexplicably, and the relevant value-added service fees were deducted every month, ranging from 1 yuan to 10 yuan.
Because many elderly people are not familiar with the operation of mobile phones, they often think that they accidentally touched it and do not pay much attention to it. As a result, they suffer long-term losses.
The police found that these mobile phone network data were linked to servers with the same domain name.
After inspection, it was found that the server can provide the function of remotely controlling mobile phone customized value-added services.Through data tracking, it was discovered that more than 14 million mobile phones across the country are controlled by this Trojan server.
In February 2023, the public security organs launched a centralized investigation into the case, and police officers rushed to Guangdong, Beijing, Hainan, Hunan and other places to arrest a total of 29 suspects and freeze more than 60 million yuan of funds involved in the case.
43 mobile phones involved in the case, 22 computer hard drives, 5 laptops, and 2 Maochi servers were seized at the scene.
