Firefox 122 is the first functional version released by Mozilla in 2024. The new version adds many new features. For example, Firefox 122 can now display images and descriptions when the search engine provides search suggestions. The line wrapping rules of web page content now comply with Unicode standards. The local translation function is better than the previous version and supports various new CSS functions.


In addition to this, there are some security enhancements and the Unbalanced Level Protection Forward Error Correction (ULPFEC) feature is enabled by default. When using WebRTC video services, ULPFEC support improves video quality for users with unstable network connections.

For users using the Firefox browser on Android, there is now support for enabling Global Privacy Control (GlobalPrivacyControl), setting the browser as the default PDF reader, and continuing to reduce user fingerprint information from Android devices.


The most noteworthy new features of Firefox 122.0 also include: Mozilla not only provides a general Linux version, but also provides Debian official software packages. Meanwhile, Mozilla also recently launched the DebianAPT code base for updating the Firefox browser.
