According to the official website of South China University of Technology, the research team of Professor Zhang Yunjiao and collaborators from the school have made new progress in NanoTAC technology. It is understood that p53 is one of the most famous tumor suppressors, which can regulate the cell cycle and prevent cells from becoming cancerous.
According to statistics, p53 mutant genes have been found in more than half of human tumors. The mutated p53 protein not only loses its original tumor suppressor ability, but also abnormally accumulates in cells, leading to tumor occurrence, invasion, metastasis, and chemotherapy resistance.
Researchers used NanoTAC technology to form a key receptor protein for selective autophagy that biomimetically simulates the human body's natural degradation system.
This biomimetic nanoreceptor successfully achieved autophagic degradation of mutated p53 in tumor cells, and demonstrated significant therapeutic effects in a variety of tumor cells and tumor animal models derived from ovarian cancer patients.
As a new bionic nano-platform, NanoTAC technology can not only achieve drug delivery, but also target the degradation of pathogenic proteins by inducing autophagy, providing new ideas and new directions for solving the problem of precise treatment of major diseases such as cancer.
