[BMW recalls 5,593 imported S1000RR motorcycles] September 18th, BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. recently filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Recall Management of Defective Automobile Products" and the "Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Recall Management of Defective Automobile Products". Recall number S2026M0118V: Starting from now, some imported S1000RR motorcycles produced between October 27, 2020 and April 7, 2026, a total of 5,593 units, will be recalled. For motorcycles within the scope of this recall, due to design reasons, under certain operating conditions, the internal components of the ignition lock may be affected by vibration and wear, resulting in poor electrical contact and ignition misfire. If ignition is interrupted, the engine stalls, and all electrical functions such as lights, instrument clusters, and various auxiliary systems fail, posing safety risks. BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will entrust authorized dealers to upgrade the software for the vehicles within the recall scope free of charge, add a two-level warning mechanism, and conduct functional tests after the software upgrade for vehicles with a mileage of more than 1,500 kilometers. If there are corresponding fault records, the ignition lock will be replaced to eliminate safety hazards.
