[U.S. officials: The number of U.S. military deaths in the Iran War is higher than the Department of Defense’s public data] September 19th, according to six U.S. officials familiar with the U.S. Department of Defense’s internal casualty statistics, they revealed on September 18, local time, that during the ongoing Iranian war in the Middle East, the number of U.S. military deaths actually exceeded the number publicly disclosed by the Department of Defense. Five of the officials said that at least 22 service members were killed, and this number was four more than what the Defense Casualty Analysis System, part of the U.S. Department of Defense, showed. Another official said that since the joint US-Israeli military strike against Iran on February 28, 23 US service members have died.
