[Amazon Leo cooperates with Uzbekistan telecom operator to introduce satellite Internet to remote areas] On September 22, Amazon announced that its satellite Internet project Amazon Leo has reached an agreement with Uzbekistan telecom operator Uztelecom. UZ-SAT, a subsidiary of Uztelecom, will become an authorized dealer of Amazon Leo and use its satellite network to provide Internet services to residents and businesses in remote areas that are difficult to reach by traditional communication networks. Amazon said that Amazon Leo has currently launched nearly 400 satellites, and ultimately plans to build a constellation of more than 3,000 satellites, and is expected to start providing initial services in some areas later this year. The project will complement Uztelecom’s existing terrestrial communications infrastructure and expand network coverage in remote areas of Uzbekistan.
