[McKinsey Warning: AI agents will further increase corporate expenses] September 23rd, a McKinsey study showed that the cost of different agents completing the same task may vary by as much as 30 times. McKinsey's 2026 "State of AI" survey shows that about one-third of organizations spend more than 10% of their technology and communications budgets on AI. McKinsey further stated that 60% of respondents plan to increase AI spending next year. About one-fifth of the respondents said that AI spending has begun to put pressure on operating costs.
