[UEFA plans to initiate criminal proceedings against Infantino] A court document shows that UEFA has applied to the U.S. Federal Court for permission to obtain testimony and documents from two FIFA entities in the United States in order to initiate criminal proceedings against FIFA President Gianni Infantino. According to reports, UEFA submitted a unilateral application under U.S. law, stating that it is considering filing criminal charges against FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s plan to sell World Cup shares to private investors. UEFA accuses Infantino of formulating the plan in secret with a small group of advisers and investors, bypassing FIFA's normal governance procedures and without consulting the FIFA Council, regional confederations or member associations.
